Potatoes with Garlic and Chilies
Ingredients
3-4 potatoes, peeled and washed 3 tbsps cooking oil 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 1/2 tsp cumin seeds 4 cloves garlic, minced 1/4-1/2 tsp chili powder 1/2 tsp ground tumeric 1tsp salt or to taste
Methods/steps
cut potatoes to the thickness of French fries, but half their length Use a large nonstick skillet
Heat oil over medium heat
Add the mustard seeds and cumin
When the seeds start popping, add the garlic and allow this to brown lightly
Remove the pan from heat and add the chili powder and turmeric
Add the potatoes and place the pan back on the heat
Stir and turn heat to medium
Add the salt, stir and mix, cover the pan, cook for 3-4 minutes and stir again
Continue to do this until all potatoes are cooked and lightly browned
Remove fom heat
