A home-kitchen version of cherry squares, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. margarine
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. flour
- 1 can pie fruit filling
Method
Cream margarine and sugar; add eggs one at a time.
Add vanilla.
Gradually add flour.
Spread 3/4 of dough on a large cookie sheet.
Spread filling over dough.
Cover with remaining dough.
Marbleize top.
Bake at 325° for 35 minutes.
