Date Nut Cake

A home-kitchen version of date nut cake, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. chopped dates
- 1 qt. chopped pecans
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 4 eggs
Method
Boil sugar and butter. Let cool. Roll dates in flour. Add eggs and vanilla to sugar mix. Stir in dates and flour a little at a time. Add pecans. Bake at 250° for 2 1/2 hours.
