Maple Pecan Corn Bread

A home-kitchen version of maple pecan corn bread, written step by step so it's easy to follow that comes together with everyday ingredients.

Ingredients
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. yellow corn meal
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 c. pure maple syrup
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Method
Combine flour, corn meal, baking powder, soda and salt.
Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine margarine, sugar and eggs; mix well.
Add syrup and buttermilk.
Stir in dry ingredients just until moistened.
Stir in pecans.
Pour into a greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or until bread tests done.
Cool for 10 minutes in pan.
