Ingredients

  • 3 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. instant coffee
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 4 c. milk
  • whipped cream

Method

  1. In large saucepan, heat all ingredients except milk and cream over low heat, stirring until chocolate is melted.

  2. Heat to boiling; reduce heat and simmer 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in milk; heat over low heat, stirring occasionally.

  3. Beat with rotary beater until foamy.

  4. Top serving with whipped cream. Makes 8 (2/3-cup) servings.
