A home-kitchen version of strawberry shortcake, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco, melted
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Method
Add, in the order listed, and mix well.
Pour into oblong baking pan or dish.
Bake at 375° for 40 minutes.
Cool and add fresh strawberries and milk, if so desired.
