Sugar Cookies

A home-kitchen version of sugar cookies, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Method
Sift flour, baking powder, salt, soda and sugar.
Cut in shortening.
Blend in egg, milk and vanilla.
Roll on floured board.
Cut with cookie cutter.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 8 minutes.
Yields 3 dozen.
