Dill Pickles

A home-kitchen version of dill pickles, written step by step so it's easy to follow that comes together with everyday ingredients.

Ingredients
- 6 cucumbers
- ice water
- onion slices or clove of garlic
- dill (fresh or dried)
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. water
- 2 c. white vinegar
- 1/2 c. pickling salt
Method
Soak cucumbers in ice water 3 or 4 hours.
Drain.
Slice or cut into strips.
Place in sterilized jars, along with onion and a generous amount of dill.
Combine sugar, water, vinegar and salt and bring to a boil.
Pour over pickles and seal.
Store in 70° to 75° temperature until cucumbers look transparent, about 3 weeks. Makes 3 pints.
