Soft Sugar Cookies

A home-kitchen version of soft sugar cookies, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk or buttermilk
- nuts, raisins or chocolate chips (if desired)
Method
Cream or mix well the shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Mix well.
Drop on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375° for 12 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen.
